Supporting Parents and Carers of Children with Disabilities

Who We Are

We are a group of parent carers, of children and young people with special needs and disabilities, working together to help improve services for children and young people with learning disabilities in Westminster.  We come together to constructively evaluate services provided and voice any concerns or queries that families may have. We believe that our opinions and voices are widely consulted by various services and have influenced and shaped services and policies in an effective way.

This group is open to all carers and people who have a professional or personal interest to help children, young people and adults with SEND to receive better services.

What We Do

We attend committee meetings, training courses and advisory seminars to help shape and design the services in Westminster. This also helps us to keep informed and up to date with changes that would affect our children, both locally and nationally.  We also organise meetings with service providers and training that our members need to help them manage the care of their own children.

Our charity is always invited to meet and attend consulting groups with education, commissioning boards and training directors on how to improve the work they do.  If you have any ideas and want to get heard by the right people please do not hesitate to contact us and we can help you find the right person to talk to.

Drop-ins

Our group is where you can share your experiences in a relaxed environment and find out what support could be available to you.

Being carers ourselves we know the daily stresses, struggles and frustration, mentally and physically that you go through and others take for granted.

You are welcome to join us, knowing that you are definitely not alone in facing these daily battles, we are here to be the voice for those we care for.

Our drop-ins run on a Thursday at Harrow Road, opposite Iceland and Tuesday at Bessborough Centre
